Introduction

A widespread neotropical species, ranging from Panama to Brazil and Amazonian Peru, and also occurring on Trinidad, W. I. Larvae have been reared on Passiflora laurifolia and Passiflora vitifolia. Probably the most common josiine in collections.

Characteristics

Lyces ena is virtually indistinguishable from and often intermingled with specimens of Proutiella infans in collections. The two may be distinguished by wing venation, and by the unicolorous white or pale gray abdominal venter (white with a gray stripe in P. infans.
