Comments Looks simmilar to black vine weevil, especially in terms of walking limbs and texture. Unsure of exact clasification, but physical features (i.e. colouration) of this specimen are fairly typical for its population, most other specimens I've seen are smaller in size however.

Behavior Motionless; 'playing dead' having noticed the camera.

Comments Adomen seems to carry parasitic larvae, it is not clear how much they affect the physical health or reproductive success of the host insect, but it is almost certainly detrimental.

Behavior A male with a successful kill, he will most likely deliver this meal to a receptive female as part of mating bahaviour.

Comments Nearing the end of its larval stage, this common spotted ladybird is in search of a suitable site to form a chrysalis. I returned the insect to the wheelbarrow where it was found. A pupa was later found on the same wheelbarrow several days later.

Behavior Observed crawling along the rim of a wheelbarrow, before being disturbed. Likely searching for suitable site to pupate.

Notes When I was searching through wikipedia & tolweb to try to identify this insect I originally believed it to be Harmonia axyridis (a highly invasive ladybird species). Thankfully it was not.
